Abu Dhabi boasts numerous entertainment centers suitable for families with both younger and older children. Below is a selection of some of the top destinations to explore in the capital.

 

1. Ferrari World Abu Dhabi:

 

Located on Yas Island, this globally renowned theme park features 40 attractions catering to various age groups. Ride restrictions are based on individual height, with a minimum requirement of 2.9 feet.

 

Visitors can indulge in the thrills of the world’s fastest roller coaster, Formula Rossa, along with other popular attractions like Flying Aces roller coaster, Formula Rossa Junior, Mission Ferrari, Turbo Track, Turbo Tower, Speedway Race, and Flying Wings. Ferrari World Abu Dhabi also offers the multisensory simulator “Viaggio in Italia,” karting for adults and children, and the 4D adventure “Speed of Magic.” For active recreation, children can explore the soft playground called Nello’s Adventureland and a climbing area known as the Junior Training Camp.

 

The park’s infrastructure includes various Italian cafes and restaurants, the world’s largest Ferrari showroom featuring a collection of branded goods (cars, clothing, and accessories), changing rooms, and dedicated areas for feeding children. Additionally, visitors can rent a pram for AED 40 (USD 11), a storage box for AED 35 (USD 10), and a luggage locker for AED 50 (USD 14) per day.

2. Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is a theme park designed in the style of the Warner Bros. Studio, featuring six distinct areas with a total of 29 attractions: Warner Bros. Plaza, Dynamite Gulch, Bedrock, Cartoon Junction, Metropolis, and Gotham City. There are plans for the future inclusion of the first Harry Potter zone in the Middle East.

 

Upon entering Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, guests are welcomed by animators dressed as their favorite movie characters. The park hosts entertaining shows for children, as well as cartoon and movie screenings throughout the day. The minimum height requirement for attractions is 2.6 feet.

 

Families on vacation can enjoy attractions such as The Flintstones Bedrock River Adventure, a zone for solving the detective story of Scooby-Doo: The Museum of Mysteries, and the maze of The Joker Funhouse. Other thrilling rides include Justice League: Warworld Attacks, Scarecrow Scare Raid, The Riddler Revolution, Tom and Jerry: Swiss Cheese Spin, and Batman: Knight Flight.

3. Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi stands out as one of the most renowned water parks in the region, showcasing a design inspired by traditional Arabic architecture. The entire park revolves around the theme of the legend of the lost pearl, a narrative rooted in the history and culture of the emirate.

 

Featuring over 40 water slides and attractions, including the Bubbles Barrel surfing area, the expansive wave pool named AMWAJ, Marah Fortress splash pads, the 984-ft Al Raha River, and the Water Wars water projectile zone, the park offers a diverse range of aquatic experiences. Notable slides include Liwa Loop, Hamlool’s Humps, Dawwama, Jebel Drop, and Slithers Slides, with children meeting a minimum height requirement of 2.6 feet being permitted on the slides.

 

Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi provides various amenities, including a well-equipped room for mothers and babies, as well as pram and locker rentals. Prior to visiting, it’s advisable to review the dress code, as the park prohibits entry in underwear, open swimsuits, long flowing clothes, street attire, and anything with metal objects that may interact with the slide surface.

4. SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is a marine center boasting a diverse population of over 100,000 inhabitants. Within its premises, visitors can embark on a journey from the poles to the tropics, exploring eight captivating zones: Abu Dhabi Ocean, One Ocean, Antarctica, Arctic, Tropical Ocean, Rocky Point, Endless Ocean, and MicroOcean. The facility showcases a wide array of marine life, including dolphins, flamingos, sea lions, seals, sharks, turtles, walruses, stingrays, otters, and numerous other species all housed under one roof.

 

Highlighting the attraction is the world’s largest aquarium, the Endless Ocean Aquarium, situated within SeaWorld Abu Dhabi. The aquarium offers scuba diving lessons for visitors aged 12 and above, as well as underwater walks in a wetsuit for children aged 10 and above, accompanied by an adult.

 

With a choice of 17 restaurants, 13 retail outlets, and various entertainment venues, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi provides a dynamic area featuring attractions such as Manta Coaster, Jelly Plunge, El Racer, Hypersphere 360°, Turtle Twist, Octozoom!, Shipwreck Cove, and more.

 

The admission fee for SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is AED 375 (USD 102) for adults and AED 290 (USD 79) for children.

5. Snow Abu Dhabi stands out as one of the world’s largest indoor snow parks, designed in the enchanting style of a forest. Maintaining a temperature of minus 2°C and boasting a snow cover depth of 19.6 inches, this expansive complex is situated on the second floor of Reef Mall, located on Al Reem Island.

 

With a selection of 20 attractions, including the Polar Express Train, Crystal Carousel, Flight of the Snowy Owl, Snowflake Garden, Enchanted Tree, Ice and Floes Toboggan Race, and Grauppel’s Summit Escape, visitors can indulge in a winter wonderland experience. Snow Abu Dhabi also houses cafes, restaurants, and an event hall.

 

The park provides winter gear, including boots, trousers, jackets, disposable socks in sizes from S to 4XL, and helmets (mandatory for visitors up to 13 years old). Children under 2 years old are not permitted, and those under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult over 16 years old.

 

The starting price for a ticket to Snow Abu Dhabi is AED 215 (USD 59), and an annual subscription costs AED 795 (USD 216).

Note: From July 17 to August 31, a summer camp is available for children aged 4 to 10 years old at Snow Abu Dhabi, operating from 9 AM to 5 PM. The daily rate is AED 350 (USD 95), a week is AED 1,500 (USD 408), and a month is AED 4,000 (USD 1,089).

 

Operating hours are from 10 AM to 10 PM, Sunday to Thursday, and from 10 AM to 12 AM on Saturday and Friday.
